A Marie-Curie PhD position is available at Vienna University of Technology, Vienna, within the frame work of “ENHANCE” Marie Curie. Initial Training Network funded by the EU (Reference Code: ENHANCE_TUV_ESR_2).


The main research and training activities are related to the exploration of nano-scale deposition by means of a focused electron or ion beam yielding nano-dots of magnetic and catalytic materials. In addition, activities also include the operation of a SEM, or a FIB system and the electrical characterization and chemical analysis (EDX, AES, AFM) as well as SQUID measurements of the deposited magnetic materials. The fellow will receive comprehensive training in a microstructure fabrication facility (clean room) and in the advanced operation of SEM and FIB tools.


Job Requirements:

Good education background in Experimental Physics, Materials Science, Physical or Analytical Chemistry


Scale of pay:
According to the MC-ITN rules (around € 35,000/year)


Eligibility:
EU, associated states,third countries - Austrians are not eligible

Completed master degree - master degree not older than 4 years
